Good afternoon, House of Madness creeps:
An unidentified bloody file has come across my desk, and although it is very vague, it's also gruesomely exciting if true. If you were a fan of "28 Days Later" (2002) and "28 Weeks Later" (2007), then I have some fantastic news about what could be heading our way, but the director of the first installment (Danny Boyle) is being extremely coy about a possible third chapter. Something does seem to exist here, but the details are more scarce than a toothbrush at a jamboree in the middle of some unknown woods.
Let's recap: In "28 Days Later", Jim (Cillian Murphy) awakes from a coma, only to realize that the U.K. has been overrun with diseased people suffering from a virus that causes rage. As Jim wanders out of the abandoned hospital, he sees horrors that he never thought possible, and quickly teams up with a group of survivors to find some kind of sanctuary where humans outnumber the ragers. Once finding a military outpost, they consider themselves saved, but as is always the case, they find out humans are the most evil and terrifying creatures you could ever stumble upon, and soon wish they had never arrived.
In "28 Weeks Later", six months have passed since the rage outbreak, and the U.S. is helping to restore order, while also helping repopulate the quarantined area. Problem is, as the refugees start to arrive, an unknown carrier of the disease is amongst them, and all Hell breaks loose once again. What started out as rebuilding, retooling, and reviving has quickly turned back into retreating, regretting, and returning to the insanity that was thought to be forever exterminated. We are left watching the infected running through a tunnel, and emerging from the Paris metro station, not far from the Eiffel Tower. Uh-oh.........
So, considering we are getting no plot details besides "under wraps", I think it's safe to assume this movie isn't about mummies, and we'll have to wait a little longer for more details to emerge. What's your guess as to what the plot might entail? An overrun city? Country? Continent? Planet? No matter what the scenario turns out to be, I only have one thing to say to the movie's creators, "TAKE MY FUCKING MONEY RIGHT NOW!!!!!!"
I'll definitely revisit this if and when more details become available. Enjoy the rest of your day, if you can manage to find your way out of the House of Madness.........(for legal reasons, I need to point out the exit sign on the left, next to the children's play area).
