ABOUT ME

Well, I suppose I should introduce myself, so you can better understand the madness behind the thoughts you're reading. My name is Neil, and I'm just a regular Joe that absolutely LOVES everything horror (except dirty diapers, I'm done with those). Ever since I was old enough to trick the clerk behind the counter that I was old enough to rent Halloween 4, I've been on a thirsty mission to watch as much horror as I possibly can. Slashers? Love 'em. Suspense? Bring it. Monsters? Let's meet up. All of these appeal to my horror tastebuds, but my heart will always be terrifyingly ensnared by found footage. That may be an unpopular opinion, but I will always put a found footage movie I haven't seen on the top of the queue burning in my brain...always hungry for more.

Now you know what rattles my chains when it comes to horror, so a little more about 'me' the person. I'm an avid movie watcher, reader, and gamer. I have 2 kids, 15 & 18 that keep me busy as well. How do I find the time to raise 2 kids, watch movies, read, and game? Simple, I'm retired. I haveĀ Tourette's (no, I don't involuntarily swear, but I will intentionally swear a lot in here!), I suffer from Depression, Anxiety, OCD, and Agoraphobia. I found out I had Tourette's when my son got diagnosed 11 years ago, and the signs were clear that I myself had been dealing with this my entire life without knowing. The Anxiety and OCD have always been there, but the Depression and Agoraphobia started about 7 years ago. Some days were and still are more horrifying in my head than Pennywise meeting Art the Clown for lunch at an old age home, but I never give up, and I never give in. I thank my wife and kids for that inner strength. So basically, horror is a release for me, whereas it might make some people faint, puke, or cover their eyes, it's what helps motivate me, stimulate me, and some days it honestly keeps me going.
Even if it's for 5 seconds today, tomorrow, or any day, I hope maybe this website can provide just an ounce of that, and help you have a better day.

In the words of the Master Stephen King, "We make up horrors to help us cope with the real ones."

I hope you enjoy your time here,

Neil
