Knock at the Cabin

Good morning, House of Madness tenants:

This morning as I was sipping my coffee (two blood, two sweeteners if you must know), I thought to myself "whose severed fingers are those under the dining room table? I didn't put them there!", and also "What interesting movies are heading my way?". Let's talk about the latter, as severed fingers are SOOOOOO 2001.

Knock at the Cabin is the latest offering from M. Night Shyamalan, and it definitely looks interesting. Shyamalan dazzled us with his movies early on, but then he went on a bit (a lot) of a mediocre or downright awful streak that would make the Washington Generals wince in horror. Luckily for us, he seems to be on a hot streak again, with the additions of 2021's Old, and the hit series Servant currently through 3 seasons of a dedicated 4 on Apple+. Let me tell you though, if they ever announce Lady in the Water 2, I'm OUT.

Knock at the Cabin stars Ben Aldridge, a dad vacationing with his family, who are then taken hostage by armed strangers demanding the family to make a choice to avert the apocalypse. Sounds to me like a cross between The Strangers, and The Day the Earth Stood Still. That sounds much more appealing than a combination of Home Alone 3, and The Happening.

Knock at the Cabin hits theatres February 3rd, 2023, and you can check out the trailer here

Until next time, tenants.

I think it looks cool too. No need for thanks, delivering horror news beats trying to get bloodstains out of wedding dresses (the neverending struggle in this house). Thanks for stopping by!

The Mad Chatter

I have to admit this movie does look pretty cool. Thanks for the heads up.
