Good morning, House of Madness monsters:
Remember that pesky monster under your bed when you were little? Every time your legs slid over the side of the bed and your feet were pulsating with fear as they approached the carpet, you just waited in agonizing expectancy for those clawed fingers to embrace your ankles, and pull you under the bed into oblivion. Perhaps your dwelling in particular didn't have a monster problem, but instead inhabited the Boogeyman, and if you ever found yourself in the basement alone, you'd run at the speed of Usain Bolt while shoulder checking more than your grandma in the grocery store parking lot. If you were lucky enough to dodge both of those midnight terrors, there was always the fear of a chance meeting with the apparition living somewhere inside the walls of your house, and each night it gets braver......and closer.......and seemingly more dangerous as you take shelter underneath the covers of comfort, all while knowing it could be the duvet of doom. I'm not sure how we survived all of these mortifying attacks on our little selves, but we did, and are still alive to tell the tales......well, I am anyways; if you're one of the angry evils mentioned above, we've made our peace, so please focus on my neighbour's kids - they're little dickheads.
Now, what if your childhood nightmare wasn't just your wild brain at work, and you really did have a little demon problem all those years ago? That's exactly the case in "Shelby Oaks", as a woman desperately searching for her long-lost sister realizes that the demon that seemingly plagued them as children may have been real after all, and not just a figment created by an overactive imagination. Is a familiar demonic force responsible for the time lost between the two siblings, or is it just a wild assumption created out of the desperation of a soul that can't accept the truth? Who knows what rabbit holes will get dug and explored as the frantic search ensues; let's just hope the welcoming darkness underneath the bed is indeed empty, and the sisters aren't destined to join the subterranean world of shadows.....you're never too old to check under the bed, and if you see someone looking back, it's probably too late.
"Shelby Oaks" is in post-production, and is slated for release some time in 2023. You can check out the cast and more here.
